Abstrak

The problem of nutritional status on toddlers is still one of the world’s problems that must continue to be resolved, such as stunting. Stunting is a condition when child’s height is shorter than the height of children their age. Stunting can directly be affected by infectious diseases and incomplete immunization such as measles basic immunization. This research aims to determine and analyze the correlation between the history of giving basic measles immunization and nutritional status, especially the incidence of stunting on toddlers. This research is an analytical observational study with a cross sectional approach. There are 134 toddlers aged 12-36 months who were collected by accidental sampling. The results showed that the majority of toddlers experienced nutritional status problems especially stunting (51.5%) and the majority of toddlers had received basic measles immunization (67.9%). Based on the spearman’s rho statistical test, obtained  value = 0.003 ( value < 0.05) with correlation coefficient (r) = -0.251. Therefore, it can be concluded, there is a significant correlation between the history of basic measles immunization and nutritional status, especially in the incidence of stunting. This research has suggestions that the nursing profession can act as a good educator and care giver in contributing to reducing the prevalence of nutritional status problems on children, especially the incidence of stunting.
