Abstrak

Background: Diabetes is one of the most common health problems occurring in societies around the world. The presence of family support can help sufferers to continue the treatment process. In addition, the role of the family is very important in supporting patients to carry out diet therapy. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between family support and dietary adherence of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in diabetic foot polyclinics. Method: This study uses quantitative research with a type of analytical observational research with a cross sectional approach, the sample in this study as many as 120 samples with sample techniques using purposive sampling. Data analysis is done with Chi Square test. Result: Based on the results of the study, the majority of respondents had good family support of 62 people (51.7%). And most with a compliant diet compliance rate of 86 people (71.7%). Statistical test results show a significance value of p = 0.000 (α = 0.05). Conclusion: Based on the research conducted it can be concluded that there is a link between family support and dietary adherence of diabetes mellitus patients in diabetic foot polyclinics.
