Abstrak

Old age is part of the process of growth and development, this is a process that continues (continues) naturally. In the elderly there will be a process of change that will have an impact on humans. These changes will cause various problemsboth physically and psychologically. One of the problems that will arise is anxiety. Anxiety is a feelinganxiety or worry resulting from anticipation of a threat or danger. There are many ways to deal with this feeling of anxiety, one of which is relaxation by listening to murottal Al-Qur'an. This study aims to analyze the correlation between listening to murottal Al-Qur'an and the level of anxiety. The design used in this study is cross sectional with a quantitative correlational analysis approach. Population elderly at the Uma Kandung Foundition as much 260 and sample in this study based on the calculation of the Slovin formula amounted to 72 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a questionnaire sheet to listen to the Qur'an and an anxiety questionnaire using the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory. The data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test. The results showed that there was a relationship between reading the Qur'an and anxiety in the elderly with p value 0.000 < 0.05. The correlation value is -0.874 with a negative correlation direction and strong correlation strength. It is hoped that this research can be a means of applying science and can be used as an insight that can add knowledge and knowledge related to gerontic nursing care.
