Abstrak

Background: Self-concept are all ideas, thoughts, beliefs, and beliefs that individuals know about themselves and affect individuals in relationships with other people. Interpersonal communication is communication that occurs between individuals who have interpersonal relationships or small intimate groups. Purpose:. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nurses' self-concept and interpersonal communication skills at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin. Methods: This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design and uses a statistical test of the Spearmant Rank Correlation test. The sample was determined by a total sampling technique of 36 respondents. Results: the results of research on the relationship between self-concept and interpersonal communication skills at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin with a total of 36 respondents, nurses' self-concept with a positive category as many as 29 people (80.6%) and 7 people with a negative category (19.4%). Interpersonal communication of nurses with good category, amounted to 26 people (72.2%) while the category was not good as many as 10 people (27.8%). Spearmen Rank test results obtained p value 0.000 <0.05. These results can be concluded that there is a relationship between the self-concept of nurses with interpersonal communication skills at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin. Suggestion These results can be concluded that there is a relationship between the self-concept of nurses with interpersonal communication skills at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin. Suggestion: It is hoped that from this research respondents can further improve their self-concept in interpersonal communication skills and also to improve interpersonal relationships among nurses in order to improve the quality of services and nurses at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin.
