Abstrak

Family health task is an obligation of a family to ensure the health of family members. This role is influential on early dental care for preschool children in order to prevent dental and periodontal disease, to maintain primary teeth, and to learn good dental habits. The main purposes of this quantitative research were to partially and to simultaneously test the influences of family health tasks on dental care of preschool children. The sample consisted of 100 parents of preschool children in two kindergartens in Banjarmasin used by total sampling technique. All data obtained by administering questionnaires. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data. The findings showed that the abilities of the family to understand the health problem, to make decisions, to provide adequate nursing care, to create the healthier home environment, to utilize health services were partially and simultaneously influential on dental care for preschool children.
