Abstrak
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a challenging malignancy worldwide and is the second most common cause of cancer-related death globally. HCC is liver cancer that causes symptoms of abdominal pain. One of the non-pharmacological interventions that can be given to HCC patients with abdominal pain is deep breathing relaxation technique therapy which aims to provide a relaxing effect and reduce pain scale. The purpose of this study was to determine deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain intensity in HCC patients. This final scientific paper uses a qualitative method with a case study design. Respondents of this study consisted of 1 respondent HCC patient at ULIN Hospital Banjarmasin. Data collection techniques used in this study were in-depth interviews and observation. The findings after taking 15 minutes of action for 3 days, the patient's response to the provision of deep breathing relaxation techniques can reduce the pain scale but is still in moderate pain proneness. Constraints of patients in performing breathing relaxation techniques are influenced by the level of concentration and environmental conditions around the patient. The conclusion of the study is that deep breathing relaxation techniques can reduce the pain scale felt by HCC patients but not significantly. Before doing deep breathing relaxation technique make sure the environment is conducive. Keyword: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), Abdominal pain, Deep breathing relaxation technique
