Abstrak

Diabetes Mellitus is a serious chronic disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin (a hormone that regulates blood sugar or glucose), or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin (Perkeni, 2015).. Nutrition is the most important thing in diabetes mellitus patients with hyperthyroid complications because nutrition is associated with increased metabolism in changes in carbohydrates, fats and proteins as well as an increase in the secretion of digestive juices and digestive tract movements which results in patients experiencing nutritional deficiencies (Damayanti, S, 2017). Leading nursing intervention in the form of readiness to improve nutrition for weight loss in patients with diabetes mellitus. This study aims to increase knowledge and insight on how to improve nutritional readiness for patients with diabetes mellitus who experience weight loss. Evaluation carry ed out for 3 days with a duration of 1 time a day for approximately 30-45 minutes, on Mr. N, it was found that the results of improving nutrition were that the client had no appetite at all, then he had an appetite even though he ate a little but often to prevent significant weight loss.
