Abstrak

Skin diseases are one of the most common diseases found in tropical countries, including Indonesia. Its prevalence in developing countries can range from 20% – 80%. This study aims to identify is there a correlation between Environmental Health and the incidence of skin diseases in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School. The research design used is an correlational study with a cross sectional. Sampling techniques in this study use probability sampling sampling method is random sampling method. The population in this study is the entire student of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School. The population in this study amounted to 418 students. Based on the results of the study, Dormitory Residence Density unqualified as many as 118 or (57,8%), Dormitory Ventilation unqualified as many as 151 or (74,0%), Quality of Clean Water qualified as many as 128 or (62,7%). Statistical test results show signification value p=0.00 (α = 0.05). Correlation of dormitory Residence density rate in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School (0,014), Correlation of dormitory ventilation rate in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School (0,003), Correlation of Availability of Clean Water rate in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School (0,776). The results of the analysis in this study showed that there is a correlation between the density of dormitory Residence, dormitory ventilation and the incidence of skin diseases in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School and there is no correlation between quality of clean water and the incidence of skin diseases in Darul Hijrah Islamic Boarding School.
