Abstrak

The prevalence of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is still relatively high both in the world and in Indonesia, estimates for 2019 there are approximately 550 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases worldwide. This study aims to determine the correlation between physical activity and increased blood pressure in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. The design of this study uses analytic correlation design with a cross sectional. The sampling technique is the consecutive technique, and the number of samples were 40 respondents. Collecting data using a physical activity questionnaire and observing an increase in blood pressure with the Spearman's rho statistic test. The results of the Spearman's rho test show a significance value of 0.000 on the questionnaire and observations sheet (p value 0.000 < α 0.05) and the correlation coefficient is 0.641 so that it can be stated that there is a strong correlation between physical activity and increased blood pressure in patients with ACS in Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. Therefore, ACS patients should pay more attention to their physical activity and rest patterns so that they can control the increase in their blood pressure.
