Abstrak

Providing Basic Life Support Training to Mg-Elang volunteer fire-fighters is very important to increase their knowledge of Basic Life Support, where they can practice directly when they are in the field and find victims of cardiac arrest. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was an effect of providing basic life support on increasing the knowledge of the Mg-Elang fire-fighters. This research used the Pre-Experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design and the data analysis used Wilcoxon Rank Test. The population used totaling sampling 31 respondents. The respondents were given a questionnaire before and after basic life support training, the respondents who got a poor score totaled 8 respondents and a good score 23 respondents, after being given basic life support training the number of respondents who answered poorly was 1 person and 30 people got better scores with an increase in results. Based on the results from Wilcoxon Rank Test, the value of Sig (2-tailed) is P-value 0.000 < 0.005. This means that there is a significant effect of basic life support training on increasing knowledge of Mg-Elang firefighters. The conclusion is that there is an effect of providing basic life support training on increasing knowledge. Keywords: Basic Life Support, Cardiac Arrest, Firefighter References: 26 (2014-2021)
