Background: Hypertension is a health problem in all parts of the world and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Hypertension self-management can be carried out by implementing 5 components, namely self-integration, selfregulation, interaction with health workers and others, blood pressure monitoring, and adherence to recommended rules. Purpose: to analyze the relationship between self-management and blood pressure status in hypertensive patients at H. Damanhuri Barabai Hospital. Methods: Analytical survey study with a crosssectional design. The population was all hypertensive patients who were treated in January-February 2023 at the Internal Medicine Polyclinic at H. Damanhuri Barabai Hospital, totaling 1,582 patients. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling as many as 94 respondents. The instrument uses a questionnaire and checks blood pressure using a sphygmomanometer. Spearman Rank (Rho) data analysis technique. Results: self-management in the majority of hypertensive patients was sufficient by 47 respondents or 50%. Blood pressure status in the majority of hypertensive patients was 49 respondents or 52.1%. There is a relationship between self-management and blood pressure status in hypertensive patients at H. Damanhuri Barabai Hospital with a p-value of 0.000 <0.005 with a correlation coefficient of 0.406 meaning that the level of strength of the relationship (correlation) between self-management variables and blood pressure status is moderate Keywords: self management, blood pressure, hypertension Reference List: 30 (2015-2021)
