Abstrak

Among motorcycle and bicycle riders, head injuries are the primary cause of mortality and disability. In an accident, first aid is an attempt to help and offer interim care, but individuals frequently panic and are confused about what to do without sufficient training. In an accident, first aid is attempted by firefighters. It is feasible to conclude that self-efficacy is essential for ordinary people delivering first aid to victims of traffic accidents with head injuries. This study aimed to determine the effect of head injury first aid training on the self-efficacy of handling traffic accident victims in firefighter members. This research employs a onegroup, pre-experimental pretest-posttest design. The researcher took samples the same as the population of active members of the MG-Elang Utara Fire Department, as many as 30 members, with a total sampling technique. Collecting data through a self-efficacy questionnaire and standard operating procedure of head injury first aid by Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. The results showed research on age, education level, occupation, and self-efficacy level of head injury first aid training. The results of this research also showed there was a level change in self-efficacy among members of the MG-Elang Utara Firefighter the Asymp. Sig. Value (2-tailed) or a p-value of 0.000 means that there is a difference between the results of head injury first aid training before and after the intervention.
