Abstrak

Children are very vulnerable to suffering from emaciation and malnutrition. Wasting cannot be considered trivial because it’s dangerous and can cause death. Good mother’s knowledge level will help their toddlers don’t experience wasting, especially children under five (aged 24-59 months). This research aimed to identify The Effectiveness of Audiovisual Media Health Education on Mother's Knowledge Levels About Wasting Prevention in Children (24-59 Months) At Pekauman Health Center. This research used Quasy Experimental with the Pretest-Posttest Control Group. This research was conducted at the Pekauman Health Center. The population of mothers who have children aged 24-59 months. The sample was 30 people, 15 for the case group and 15 for the control group. The time research starts from November 2022 to July 2023. The most in Pre-test on case group is 8 respondent (53,3%) with enough category, the most in Pre-test on control group is 12 respondent (80%) with less category, the most in post-test on case group is 15 respondent (100%) with good category, and the most in post-test on control group is 8 respondent (53,3%) with less category. Wilcoxon test found that in the case group is (P = 0.001) < (α = 0.05) and in the control group is (P = 0.004) < (α = 0.05). There is effect of Audiovisual Media Health Education on Mother's Knowledge Levels About Wasting Prevention. Optimization counseling on wasting and use audiovisual media that have been made by researcher to improve mother’s knowledge levels.
