Abstrak

This study aims to determine the experiences of high school students towards online learning using WhatsApp. This study generally answered the following questions: How was the experience of students in learning English online using WhatsApp?. Data collection was done through interviews and used thematic analysis method.There were 7 students of class X as participants. This study explored student experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Narrative interview study using qualitative techniques is considered appropriate as a type of research. The results of this study are presented in the form of a narrative to express student experienced. This study found effective and less effective student experienced towards online learning using WhatsApp. Meanwhile, WhatsApp made some students motivated, relaxed and even exciting, but some were just lazy in doing so and choose to postpone the task even some are left behind in lessons
